Your Mission:

We are looking for a Senior Requirements Engineer(all genders) to join our Central Engineering team and lead requirements engineering practices for the Microliner aircraft.

You will establish and maintain a consistent, traceable, and certification-compliant requirements framework across the aircraft development lifecycle. Working closely with Overall Aircraft Design, Safety, Verification and Validation and Configuration Management, you will enable system and discipline owners to develop high-quality requirements by providing requirements engineering expertise, guidance and quality assurance.

As a senior member of Central Engineering, you will provide requirements engineering expertise across the organization, guide requirement owners in applying effective methods, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Lead requirements engineering practices across the aircraft development lifecycle, from stakeholder needs and requirements definition through baselining, change management, and certification support.

  • Support aircraft, system, and discipline owners in developing and maintaining clear, consistent, implementation-appropriate, and verifiable requirements, providing expert guidance and quality assurance throughout the process.

  • Support requirement owners in the decomposition and allocation of requirements, and maintain bidirectional traceability across aircraft functions, systems, and engineering disciplines, including requirements applicability and consistency across aircraft variants and configurations.

  • Ensure alignment between requirements, aircraft architecture, interfaces, certification requirements, and safety objectives, and collaborate with the V&V team to establish complete and traceable verification coverage.

  • Facilitate requirements elicitation, development, and review activities, and challenge and support requirement owners in resolving ambiguities, inconsistencies, gaps, and quality issues.

  • Coordinate requirements baselining and change control, including the assessment of impacts on architecture, interfaces, safety, certification, and downstream requirements.

  • Define and continuously improve requirements engineering processes, methods, templates, quality criteria, and tool usage.

  • Assess and communicate requirements maturity, quality, traceability, applicability, and change status in collaboration with the respective requirement owners.

  • Coach engineers and technical leads in requirements development and management best practices.

Your Profile:

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in requirements and systems engineering, with demonstrated expertise in developing and managing complex requirements throughout the full product development lifecycle and across multiple levels of the requirements hierarchy. Experience with aircraft requirements is preferred; comparable experience from another safety-critical industry, such as automotive, is also considered.

  • Previous experience with the development of novel aircraft systems, such as high-voltage electric propulsion systems, is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience working across a complete requirements hierarchy, from aircraft, vehicle, or product level through system and subsystem levels to hardware and software requirements, including decomposition, allocation, traceability, and management of requirements across organizational and technical boundaries.

  • Strong knowledge of requirements capture, analysis, decomposition, allocation, validation, traceability, change control, and verification.

  • Good understanding of systems and safety engineering for complex, safety-critical products, preferably in accordance with SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761. Previous experience with ED-12/DO-178 and ED-80/DO-254 is a strong plus.

  • Experience with civil aircraft certification under EASA CS-23/25, FAA Part 23/25, or comparable aircraft certification; experience in an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, Siemens Polarion, Jama Connect, or equivalent; experience with Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE is a plus.

  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented professional with strong ownership, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an asset, combined with a strong motivation for aviation and electric aircraft technologies.

We recognize that women and other under-represented groups are often overlooked in our industry. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every listed qualification, we still encourage you to apply. Talent and potential can’t always be captured in a checklist.
