Position: German Language and Literature Expert (German)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated German text across various use cases such as translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction.
- Edit, refine, or rewrite German content to ensure it meets linguistic, cultural, and literary standards.
- Annotate German texts for grammatical, syntactic, semantic, and stylistic features to enhance model understanding.
- Identify model errors and linguistic shortcomings. Collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance in German.
- Provide detailed literary and linguistic feedback to guide ongoing model training and evaluation efforts.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Native or near-native fluency in German, with excellent command of grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
- Professional experience in literary editing, copywriting, criticism, or NLP-related linguistic annotation in German.
- Strong understanding of literary complexity, tone, and genre-specific conventions, as well as regional language variations.
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to identify subtle translation errors or unnatural phrasing.
- Strong written communication skills and experience working with remote, distributed teams.
Preferred
- Interest in AI, translation technologies, or LLM-driven language research.
