Position: Bilingual Russian STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety
Type: Contract
Compensation: $48–$52/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20+ hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Write expert-level prompts in Russian across specialized scientific topics.
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate handling of sensitive content.
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
- Work independently and asynchronously to improve AI model performance and ensure safety.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to maintain consistency and relevance in datasets.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in Russian and business-level written English.
- Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
- Sound judgment around scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.
Preferred
- Based in Eastern Europe or regions where Russian is widely spoken.
- Expertise in radiological and nuclear coverage from a chemistry background.
- Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield like organic or inorganic synthesis.
- Experience with chemical safety, biosafety, or hazardous-materials handling.
- Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
