Internship - Forward Deployed Engineering

München, Bavaria, DeutschlandPraktikumvor 17 Std.

About CONXAI

CONXAI has built an agentic AI platform for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) and physical industries, focused on knowledge-automation. We automate high-stakes, knowledge-intensive workflows traditionally trapped in siloed data, fragmented tools and tacit (undocumented) human expertise.

Our multi-agent systems perform complex reasoning in the physical world; and transform bespoke, service-heavy processes into scalable Service-as-a-Software automation.

CONXAI is trusted by some of the leading AEC companies in Europe, US, LATAM and Japan.

Your Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineering Intern, you will work directly at the intersection of our core engineering team and our customers. You will spend time on live projects, deploying our AI use cases, solving immediate technical challenges, and building solutions that deliver real value.

  • AI Workflow Design: Shape how our AI reads and reasons over real construction data - from CAD drawings and specifications to contracts and schedules
  • Deploy & Integrate: Implement our AI agentic platform into live customer environments and adapt it to real-world construction workflows
  • Hands-On Building: Write code, prototype features and build bespoke configurations to solve immediate customer pain points rather than waiting for core engineering capacity
  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the technical liaison between users and our engineering team, turning on-site friction and product gaps into actionable technical specs
  • Validation: Test AI outputs against strict construction industry standards to ensure the platform delivers practical, reliable results in the field

Who You Are

  • Top-Tier Pedigree: A Master's degree completed or in its final stage, in architecture, civil or structural engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, computational design, building information technology, industrial design, informatics, or anything adjacent. We care about what you can do, not which faculty you came from
  • CAD Fluent: You have worked on actual drawings in a real CAD or drawing environment, e.g. AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Bluebeam or similar, and you understand how drawing sets get produced, marked up, shared, and broken on live projects
  • Hands-On Coder: You have real coding experience and can point us to something you built. A thesis pipeline, a script that killed a tedious task, a repository, a tool your team kept using. Depth beats breadth; a course grade is not evidence
  • AI-Tool Fluent: Agentic coding and similar are part of how you already work. You know where they help, where they mislead you, and how to get a real result out of them rather than a plausible-looking one
  • Product Instinct: You can watch somebody work, see where the tool is failing them, and then argue for what to build first - and just as importantly, what not to build
  • Construction Literate: You read drawings, specifications, schedules and bills of quantities. You can look at an output and know whether it is plausible for a real project
  • Communication: Professional-level English. German language skills highly desired

Why CONXAI

  • Edge of Innovation: Be at the absolute forefront of applied AI in the construction tech space, getting hands-on experience with state-of-the-art agentic workflows
  • Real Impact From Day One: A named project, real customer data, and your work in production and used by customers in live construction workflows, and not an internship report nobody reads
  • Top-Tier Peer Group & Mentorship: Work alongside and learn directly from a global team of expert ML engineers, software developers, and seasoned industry practitioners.
  • A Permanent Role Is the Intent: This internship is how we both find out whether it fits. Strong performers get an offer
