Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will support the full finance function and gain hands-on exposure to transaction processing and accounting, bookkeeping, controlling, financial modelling, and financial planning and analysis. Your Role - Support day-to-day transaction processing and bookkeeping using our ERP systems (Odoo, DATEV) including taxation topics - Assist with month-end close, board and investor reporting including budgets vs actuals tracking and variance analysis - Develop financial models to evaluate business decisions and planning - Support the CFO in preparing materials for future debt and equity financing rounds, including Series B preparation - Help maintain accurate financial records across our multi-entity group structure - Support the procurement process: vendor onboarding, purchase orders, invoice tracking - Assist in evaluating supplier quotes and supporting purchasing decisions Your Profile - Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field - Strong Excel skills; experience with financial modelling is a plus - Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy - Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking initiative - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup - Genuine interest in sustainability, biotechnology, or impact-driven businesses - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Fluency in German is a plus What We Offer - Direct mentorship from the Head of Finance - End-to-end finance exposure across accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A, and fundraising, rare at any internship level - A ringside seat to a Series B and debt financing process and a chance to understand how institutional financing works in practice - A role at a company that is genuinely growing with real decisions, real data, and real stakes - A collaborative, international team working on something that matters About us BIOWEG is a purpose-driven company developing bio-based alternatives to fossil-based ingredients using Biotech and Green Chemistry.
