Co-reactive is a fast-growing greentech company with a clear mission: We transform CO₂ into high‑performance construction materials, enabling climate‑friendly building for everyone. At our brand‑new site in Erkrath, we unite laboratory, production, and development under one roof. Our pilot plant already showcases what the construction industry of tomorrow will look like.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Head of Cementitious Product who will take full ownership of translating our R&D efforts into market‑ready, certifiable, and scalable products. In this role, you sit at the critical interface between research, engineering, operations, and customers ensuring that our technology becomes a repeatable product that succeeds technically, regulatorily, and commercially.
At Co-reactive, we embrace a maker mentality and a common goal: reshaping the construction sector. As a startup team, we move fast, make decisions quickly, and implement them decisively. You will take over customer projects once they are set up and lead them to successful product delivery.
We value diverse perspectives and open communication. Embedded in a strong network of customers, industry partners, and technical experts, you will have significant autonomy to shape our product portfolio and play a defining role in scaling a breakthrough climate technology.
Tasks
As Head of Cementitious Product, you are responsible for shaping, executing, and safeguarding Co-reactive’s products from early customer projects to scalable, certifiable, and market‑ready offerings. You translate scientific innovation into robust products by combining technical depth, customer focus, and structured execution across the organization.
- Take full ownership of translating Co-reactive’s R&D efforts into market‑ready, certifiable, and scalable construction material products, ensuring clear product definitions aligned with market, regulatory, and industrial requirements
- Assume responsibility for customer projects once they are set up and lead them through implementation to successful technical, regulatory, and product outcomes, acting as the single point of accountability for product‑related success
- Define, lock, and manage product scopes, specifications, performance requirements, and boundary conditions for customer‑specific and standard products, balancing customer needs with long‑term platform strategy
- Act as the central interface between R&D, engineering, operations, and customers, translating scientific insights and experimental results into concrete product definitions, application concepts, and use‑case‑specific solutions
- Drive engineering refinements and product optimization with a strong focus on manufacturability, scale‑up readiness, robustness, cost implications, and repeatability across sites and customers
- Own decisions on which feedstocks are suitable for which products and applications, and evaluate and validate product performance for targeted use cases, ensuring technical credibility, comparability, and scalability
- Lead the product‑side certification and regulatory pathway, including REACH, CE marking, DIBt approvals, and relevant EN/DIN standards, and translate regulatory requirements into clear product development priorities
- Act as technical key account lead for strategic customers during product execution, supporting sales and business development with credible technical‑product narratives, documentation, and customer‑ready materials
- Manage the evolution of the product portfolio across lifecycle stages, from prototype and pilot products to pre‑commercial and commercial offerings, and prepare structured, data‑driven product recommendations for executive decision‑making
Requirements
You combine technical depth with a strong sense of ownership and pragmatism. You are motivated to take complex technology and turn it into real‑world products that can be deployed at scale.
- Degree in Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field; a PhD is a strong plus
- 6+ years of experience in product development, technical project leadership, or application engineering in construction materials, cement, concrete, mineralization, or related industries
- Solid understanding of cementitious materials, inorganic materials, mineral processes, or industrial materials systems
- Proven experience with certification, standards, and regulatory frameworks for construction materials (e.g. REACH, CE, EN/DIN, DIBt)
- Experience working at the interface of R&D, engineering, and customers, ideally in industrial or scale‑up environments
- Strong ability to structure complex problems, make trade‑offs, and drive execution across teams
- Excellent communication skills, able to bridge scientific, industrial, and commercial perspectives
- Hands‑on mindset, high level of ownership, and passion for climate‑positive construction technologies
Benefits
We offer you more than just a job — we offer you ownership, responsibility, and the chance to shape a new category of climate‑positive construction materials.
- A key role at the heart of Co-reactive’s technology‑to‑market journey, with direct impact on customer success and product strategy
- High level of ownership over product decisions, customer projects, and certification pathways
- Close collaboration with the CEO, Head of R&D, engineering, and operations
- A dynamic startup environment where your work quickly translates into real‑world impact
- Access to state‑of‑the‑art lab, pilot, and production facilities at our new site in Erkrath
- Exposure to leading customers, industry partners, and regulatory bodies in the construction sector
- Attractive compensation package with competitive salary and equity participation options
- 30 days of annual leave and a modern working culture focused on trust, autonomy, and responsibility
